Oi oi all!!
It's been some time since we last did a RID blog. I thought I would keep you updated.
Our last event was in December, and to be honest, I wasn't feeling it. All our events are amazing, almost entirely due the people who are there. RID is a broad church of music lovers, not feeling the Dubai club scene who want to party. The people who come to the parties are the reason I continue to keep doing it!
The issue is always the venues. They drive me absolutely bonkers!! When you do get to a deal, all the questions you ask about licencing, branding, audio, bar staff, etc etc are replied to with a "yes, of course". Some or most of the time, the reality is different and it drives me NUTS!!!
Anyway, the party/raving itch was always going to come back. And come back it has.
Darragh & Liam in the RID group have been negotiating with a venue we have used before. They too have found issues in getting a deal. Lots of mind changing from the venue, so we had to pull out.
SO, instead we are having another desert rave.
We are hoping to have a deal with a desert site by the 3rd week in March, then we will release the details. It will be paid entry only and BOYB. Nice and cheap and lo-fi. How we like it!!
We are hoping to bring some of the rave spirit into this place before it gets too hot.
