BART THE RAVER - Episode 8 - How I met Simon Fee!

Dubai Techno House - 31st of December 2023 - Desert Psytrance Rave

I first met Simon online through his Ravers in Dubai social media and saw his message to 'recruit' people to join his gang of party planners, thinking it was a great idea to bring some old school Belgian retro vibe, I decided to contact him.

Safe to say that Simon is a busy man, after months of sending messages and emails and not finding time to meet up, we decided that the easiest way to finally get together is just to go to a party - that's what Ravers in Dubai is all about after all.

And rather than going to a club, we chose a better alternative to go for a sunrise session in the desert - Dubai Techno House's psytrance desert rave in Al Qudra - one of my favorites hang out spot and one of Simon's least favorite music styles - talk about first impressions.

Honestly it was not difficult to find Simon in the desert, driving snail pace on a gravel road with his bright green Jinmy with a RID smiley on the back I left him in my dust and signaled him to the side of the road when we reached the Dubai Techno House desert location pin!

We said our hellos and I offered him a Belgian beer to break the ice and headed out across the dunes to find the pystrance party in full swing. Simon pointing out on several occasions he really did not like the music, we exchanged our ideas about the current rave scene in Dubai as well as sharing our respective party histories and we have been rave buddies ever since !

And that's how I met the founder of Ravers in Dubai - the OG Ravers in Dubai Legend - Simon Fee !!!

There is alot more to choose from with the beach clubs running full steam already after the opening weekend last weekend, and plenty of other parties worthwile visiting at Terra Solis (Kölsch) or Soul Beach (Barry Can't Swim), PLUS Sacred Circle's desert gathering moving into a weekly event as well !
